Bulgaria could take over some of the Ukrainian refugees coming to the Republic of Moldova. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Teodora Ghenciovska, discussed in Chisinau with her counterpart Nicu Popescu about reducing the pressure of the humanitarian crisis on our country, in partnership with Romania, informs Moldova 1.

During the talks, it was stressed that the Republic of Moldova needs international assistance for the management of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The wave of refugees does not stop, and the pressure on our country is enormous. The solution that is being discussed with the governments of the states in the region is to ensure green corridors and to direct the flow to countries with much larger capacities in the European Union.

"We need to create and to streamline mechanisms that would facilitate as soon as possible a distribution of refugees on the European continent that allows people to find themselves in dignified conditions, but also does not endanger the situation in this region," said Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu.

The Bulgarian government agrees to establish a transit corridor through the Republic of Moldova and Romania to Bulgaria. The details will be discussed with the government in Bucharest.

"We discussed today in the context of the forthcoming influx of refugees into your country several opportunities and solutions, including the development of trilateral initiatives in the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, so that these refugee flows to be effectively managed in this direction, "said Teodora Gheniciovska, Bulgaria's foreign minister.

Foreign Ministers Nicu Popescu and Teodora Ghenciovska condemned the Russian aggression in Ukraine that provoked the humanitarian crisis. About 200 thousand Ukrainians entered the Republic of Moldova, over 100 thousand remained with us.
