EU must be united on Russia sanctions says Polish PM

 24.2.2022

The European Union must be united in imposing huge sanctions on Russia for invading Ukraine, Mateusz Morawiecki, the Polish prime minister, said before an EU summit in Brussels on Thursday.

"We can't allow (Russian President Vladimir) Putin to cross a new Rubicon," Morawiecki said. "We must stop it... It is a critical moment in the history of the European Union and Europe."

The Polish prime minister said Europe must be strong and united to respond in an adequate way to Russian aggression.

Russia launched an all-out attack against Ukraine on Thursday morning, invading from the north, east and south as well as hitting targets inside the country in missile attacks and air raids.
