ANKARA, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Turkey on Thursday reported 29,104 new COVID-19 cases, raising the tally of infections to 7,154,070.
The death toll from the virus in Turkey rose by 216 to 64,054, while 32,119 more people recovered in the last 24 hours, according to the Turkish Health Ministry.
A total of 357,853 tests were conducted over the past day, it said.
Turkey started mass COVID-19 vaccination on Jan. 14 after the authorities approved the emergency use of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine.
More than 53.84 million people have received their first doses of vaccines, while over 44.49 million have taken their second doses. Turkey has so far administered over 109.49 million doses including third booster jabs.
